Well I attempted to sit in the shadows but the shadows were proving to be uncooperative that day. They kept insisting on moving like clockwork. Forcing me to seek new seating until I ran out of perfectly usable stumps to rest upon. I then had to abandon the effort and seek amusements elsewhere.

Musical stumps a new game for when we are out shooting Wendell.:) You made good use of the situation my friend, a hard to shoot scene, because of the lighting situation. Tigs♥ =^..^=

Well you are well hidden my friend and the shadows and light are very nicely balanced in this photo,plus love how you have the sun shine in the distance in this capture too.

I had to reread the title. I thought there was a reference to a Bear in the Woods at first.

People are like cameras--sometimes they lose focus.
Wendell, try saying, "I Sit In Shadows. I Sit In Shadows, I Sit In Shadows" as fast as you can about ten times. I tried and you wouldn't have believed what I said.
Love the use of light and dark contrast which I think was maybe the purpose of the shot. You should have isolated the trees and turned them a super-saturated orange and then switched the light with the dark. Unless I spend at least 18 hours on editing a shot, I don't bother to submit it. I mean you paid a fortune for that software...might as well use it.
Seriously, a very nice effort and a pleasure to look at something besides a ^&%$* flower.

You caught some great lighting in this!...A difficult shot at the best of times...but you come out smelling of roses
