I just didn't have the heart to tell him that the finish line was 5 km back in the other direction and that this was a foot race. Some people just hold onto their delusions longer than others I guess.

Looks like a perfect entry for the new contest, Wendell. All we need is a different contest, I guess, or perhaps a different photo. Furthermore, I don't think that you should be one bit paranoid that they're scoping you out in their mirrors or that they are undercover bicycle police because there's nothing illegal about what you've been doing...at least that we know of. 47°C here today; so I'm coming off some medication that I smoked for heat stroke. I hope I don't embarrass myself and say something silly.
Seriously nice shot of a couple of people getting some decent exercise as they peddle as fast as possible to put plenty of distance between you and them. I'm sure you won't tell us what you said to scare them like that; so we'll have to use our imaginations.
Nice composition, love the greens (we have none of that here) and the detail of the guy's gastocnemius and gastrocnemius.
