I found these bracket fungi growing on the side of a stump unlike some people who go around finding them on the back of stumps. I've yet to find the back-side of a tree no matter how many times I've circled around them I keep finding the front-side. To be more precise they were on the south-western side of the stump. No flash was used as the stump was in a public place, it was hot out and wearing an overcoat would have been ridiculous.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

Outstanding detail and textures, plus really like the angle and colours. I feel like I can reach in and touch it, truly a 3D look. OK how do you know if it's the front side or backside, lol

These fungi look sneaky, like they're waiting for the right photographer to come along and photograph them on the front yet south-western side of their stump, just so they can lay low and pretend they're wearing peoples' overcoats and...btw, I love the textures and earthy colors here.

The always entertaining and ever elusive Wendell strikes again.
I think a Wilson streak resides within.
Well done.

Great textures in this one and wonderful earth tones of course. But I can't sauté them with my steak tonight!
