This appears to be a bridge of the troubled waters variety. Or at least they were on the day the photo was shot. For fun the locals like to go sliding on the mud flats when the water recedes with the tides. I'm not too sure how thrilled their mothers feel when they return home caked with mud. But I know mine wouldn't have let me in the house, not even the mud room, until I had been hosed down.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

This is very stark looking but very interesting Wendell - I don't know that I've seen conditions such as this.

I like the wide format, fits this capture perfectly. As a child I lived in Nebraska, and if I was at my grandmas I'm sure I would have been put in the old wash tub on the back porch. Lol!

Hey, you could slide on the mud and wash off in what remains of the muddy waters! lol That would be a mess!! I like the wide view and the muted tones.

I was the same..Going home as a muddy kid..got me chucked in the tub..'clothes on and all'!

Like the panorama here..great stretch..I think the ky could do with a tad darkened to comply with the picture

Wow this is one bridge my friend and you captured this scene one hundred percent my friend with stunning earthly colours superb light and detail and nice wide photo too.as for the light it great how the sky lights up half of the river too, plus I have seen a program of people sliding on mud flats like this and could have been this river my good friend,Get yourself in there mate it great fir the old skin .Now coming to think of it we do have a river like this it is the Avon and a few years ago a couple drop a item and it fell down on to the mud and they tried to rescue the said item and got stuck ,the girl manage to get out and get help and they say it was only a mater of time and the tide would have risen and he would have been dead.

Nice and interesting shot, Wendell. Is this the tidal river just West of Truro, off the end of the Bay of Fundy??.
Maybe Truro's expanded to the point where it's within the city limits. Come to think of it, seems it was on the edge of the city 60 years ago.

Lol, I don't think I'd like to go mud sliding, but bet they sure were covered with the stuff. What a great looking bridge, looks like it took them a long time to build, as I said yesterday that river looks wide
