Ordinarily it's not a smart idea to walk the line as a speeding locomotive can be quite speedy and silent when approaching from behind. But the other day I had to traverse about a half-mile of track lugging all my gear so I could continue working. It was either that or sit on my keister for the rest of the day and do some navel pondering. I was getting paid regardless of what I choose to do. So it really didn't matter.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

Nice shot, Wendell. There's a very old rule pertaining to the bottom corners of Art and Photography and I honestly don't remember the specific Why's. I've just always complied, and watched for any.
What I do remember applies to fences, roadways, trails, etc and just requires not having a borderline appearing out of a corner. Just crop about a quarter of an inch from the bottom or this image and you'll immediately see how it changes the overall perspective.

Well...where-ever you sit to ponder the navel fluff..sit between the lines as the tthe trains pass..and your ears would suddenly loose the power of hearing!... 'Whooooooosh'!

Super perspective and spot on editing diagonally!..I tried putting a piece of paper on the corners as Doug says...and couldn't see a lot of difference...although 'personally' I do like the rail hitting the corners

Beautiful shot and presented Wendell. I'm always fascinated by views that simply draw you in and disappear off in the horizon. Fantastico!

Looks like you are getting some good advice, Wendell.
I like the disappearing act too.

For a start you composition is outright superb along with outstanding depth of field and the colours in this photo beautiful and just right with one amazing looking sky and the light is lovely cutting through the sky and running down the railway lines as well.

Wowsie, brilliant composition and depth, really like the way the to set of rails draws your eyes right up to the magnificent sky with the very thin layer of clouds looking like sun rays
