Someone in the Parks Department snuck a new bench into the system over the winter. You can't see the bench because I decided it would be a good place to park myself after the longish walk it took to get to this point on the trail. The bench would have been warmly received about three turns of the trail earlier. They really make you work for your rest breaks on this trail system. The next bench after this is even further down the trail. They cluster them together at the beginning to lure you into a false sense of hope of having a good respite from the walking. But you came here for the view not a crazy rant about benches. The view here is of the head of the town reservoir. If this was full colour you could see the blue water out there, some green trees and some not so-green trees ready to leaf out, and a lovely blue sky to cap the scene. There were some ducks meandering through the stream below, but they got camera shy. So it was rather pointless to point them out. I might as well have mentioned the squirrel that chattered my ear off as I was coming along the trail across the way.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

The long hike to reach this first bench was worth your efforts. A beautiful landscape and entertaining narrative, Wendell.

Smile, without a reason why. Love, as if you were a child, Smile, no matter what they tell you Don't listen to a word they say Cause life is beautiful that way. (From the film "Life Is Beautiful")

But...you did enjoy the resting on the bench though!...

Looks really good in mono...and changes the view to a more 'nightmarish' feature!

Excellent shot. Hard to beat Black and White for dramatic results.

Excellent B&W Wendell - reminds of some of Ansel Adams work.

It is like a puzzle Wendell. The first questions are simple to get you going - just like the benches. Good one in /bw.
