I should have kept walking past the scene after I snapped the shot. But silly me I just had to stop and test out the bench. The snow added a nice padded cushioned seat to the otherwise hard wooden surface. The light filtering through the snow-ladened branches illuminating the spectacular winter scene before me. The silence and serenity of the forested glen broken by the murmuring stream in the gully below and the songs of the winter birds as they fluttered through the trees. All of that was of cold comfort to me when I realised I had become one with the bench. Frozen in place by the seat of my pants by the same padding snow I had found comforting in my respite. Well nothing to do now but to await for spring's warmth to release me from winter's cold grasp. Either that or trudge home in my unmentionables.
