This one shows the blue tiles panel that you can see in this photo St.Bento Train Station. in the wall in front between the doors. This picture shows Egas Moniz ( a very important noble that lives in the 12th century) introducing to the king of Lion( the Lion kingdom nowadays is north of spain) with his family. This scene happens beacause the Portucalense County was part of the Kigdom of Lion, but Afonso Herinques (that wil became first king of Portugal, knwon be the nick name of the Conquer) begins to show intentions of turning the County Portucalense indenpendent of the Lion Kingdom and Egas Moniz (Afonso Henriques cousin) goes to the king of Lion to demonstrate that Afonso accepts the submission to the Lion Kingdom, but Afonso really whats is county independent from the King of Lion ( Afonso grandfather) and in 1128 Afonso it struggles against his mother (D. Teresa daughter of the King of Lion) in the battle of St. Mamede (in the city of Guimarães, the first portuguese capital) wins the battle and proclaims the independence of Portugal, the independence of Portugal was recognized by the Kindom of Lion in 1143 on the Zamora ( spanish ciy) treaty, to finish on word to the Count D. Henriques (Afonso father) that was a brave french knight that became to the Kingdom of Lion to help the Lion king on the war against the moorish and because is very brave and helps very much the Lion king in recognition sign give to him the land between the Minho river and the Douro river (Portucalense county) and the hand of is daughter, after the dead of the Count D. Herinques his son Afonso turn the county in a independent country.
