I spotted this Gentleman at a gas station and inquired about a photograph. He asked about a cigarette... I told him I'd buy him a whole pack if he would allow me to snap a few shots. He agreed and I had a nice little photo session with him. He never lit the cigarette. The sunlight was very hard but in the shadow of the hoodie, it was just right.

He probably didn't light it because he didn't have a lighter. You should have bought him one of them too.

That's a really nice hoodie he's wearing. I can't help but wonder about those eyes. Are they both looking in the same direction at once? It must be the way the sun is hitting them. Maybe he didn't want the smoke to interfere with the shoot. You should carry around a goodie bag to have goodies available for those whose pic you want to shoot. I bet you'd get a lot of takers and a lot of fine images just like this one.

Good capture Lt. Dan. I would like a little more contrast in the photo. I think it would enhance the old gentleman.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
