One more posting from our visit to Año Nuevo State park in January of 2009. This particular shot, although quite loaded with these awesome creatures, wasn't where the majority of "E" seals congregate but was the best shot I had. Año Nuevo State Park is the site of the largest mainland breeding colony in the world for the northern elephant seal. The reason why the sunsets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
This is outstanding the composition and detail are outstanding.I also like the frame work it sets the picture a 100%. Well done.Plus the trees at the front help set the picture as well.

Wow BRuce, I had to look twice to realize those little "hills" were seals!!! I've never liked seals a lot, they are very aggressive and demanding and even a bit mean, the remind me of giant slugs!!! Yuck! But your photo is lovely, the colours are so earthy and strong. This time I actually like the Seagulls a lot more, but that's because they are prettier then the seals...Verena
