Bruce, it reminds me of an abstract Parcheesi game board.
The blue corners give the board depth and the wave outline designs seem to lift up the board and makes everything 3D.

My compass is in the shop so I'll have to navigate by the stars to get there. So I may be a little late getting there, but feel free to start without me. I have no idea where you got this one from, Bruce. A great bit of colour you managed to squeeze into this work. Pretty fine textures in there as well.
