....a very quiet party at best:):) Taken at Ano Nuevo Natural Preserve about 5 years ago. Most of these 'beasts' are about 10 to 16 feet in length and despite there size they move rather fast although it's quite the site as they flop themselves around especially during mating season as the males chase away any intruders that are smaller than themselves. You were lucky to see such a phenom Bruce. You did such a good job on this capture of them laid back. I used to go to Santa Cruz alot when I was a teenager and living in the bay area, but never went to this area. tigs♠

People are like cameras--sometimes they lose focus.
This is one wonderful natural history scene with outstanding natural colours ,lovely detail and perfect completion too. Thank for sharing this photo as this is a scene not seen in the UK we have seals but not this breed and it must be great to see them in the wild like this Bruce ,plus I like the frame work you applied to it works well.As for the colours it stunning to see all them different red and browns tones too.

I've never seen an elephant seal in person, but this group is sure enjoying their beach time. The little baby seal in the center caught my eye. Excellent capture, Bruce.
