This rock covered in lichen is very near the North Table Mountain Ecological Reserve where I posted the pictures of the Orville Dam spillway at about 5 miles from each other. We saw all this the same day. I love the patterns of this amazing plant. There are approximately 3,600 species of lichens in North America. Lichens are a complex life form that is a symbiotic partnership of two separate organisms, a fungus and an alga. I could go on but....not:):) Thanks for looking.
