From a hospital window on the day my niece was born. I'm learning about post processing and photoshop skills and have used a few to bring out the features of this sunset. I find that straight captures of sunrise and sunsets never do the moment justice. Comments on improving the composition and effect are GREATLY welcomed.

Beautiful shot. I agree with you that most sunrises/sets do need processing to match what the eye saw. I guess CCDs don't quite match our retinas. Not a problem with your photo, but I've found one has to watch out for using too much saturation when there are whites or light colors in the scene, as they can turn blocky blue/pink/whatever. May I suggest you print this and entitle it "My First Sunrise," date it, and hang it on your new niece's wall?
