Somebody posted a shot of one of these guys awhile back, and I thought it was Really Cool. Can't remember what they're called, but I spotted one today, and was lucky enough to get a shot off. Handsome little Creature! He's about an inch and a half long. Thanks for taking the time to have a look.

When I was a kid, these were called "Darning Needles" and were reputed to be able to sew shut the lips of bad children!

Wonderful shot. I love the way he is balanced on the very tip of the leaf. Nicely done background, too.

It was very good as a thumbnail. It is fantastic at full size! I wish I could do the things you do with a camara. Excellent shot.

Darning Needle indeed! I forgot how small they are. This turned out wonderful with the reflection on his wings.. Almost missed it in the thumbnail! This is really good! ~Mary~

Gorgeous damselfly, Greg! Wow! I love the wings. They are gossamer and sparkly. What a great close up. You did a wonderful job on this guy. He looks like he's hanging onto that leaf for dear life! lol

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Greg,
Beautifully sharp, never easy with insects. You've got the delicate thing working big time with this one. Excellent.

Damselflies are what antlions become when adults. The antlion is the larval stage of its life.
