Just a little fun with sinedots. A little off the beaten path for me. Hope you like it.

Okay...now you've piqued my interest.. what are sinedots? They certainly look like they'd be fun to make and they come out looking great, well, at least yours do. I like the flow and symmetry of the colors here.

This is very nice to look at. It would make for a great desktop background.

Um, yeah, what are sinedots?

Michael.

Lovely colors, pleasing shapes. I wish each "sinedot", whatever that is, were different instead of all the same.

Sorry about folks not knowing what sinedots are. I was making an assumption that was wrong. I am pasting some info about the plugin from the author and another source. Sinedots can be very different, but I just chose to use a continuous pattern for this particular piece of art.

Due to the enourmous positive feedback about the sinedots filter I decided to release a slightly advanced version. Basically it's the same effect with a few extensions:

enhanced antialias
color support
blend modes
more parameters for enhanced control
16Bit support
enhanced compatibilty
To get started you can read this tutorial by Sally Beacham or this one by Patti. Sally also gives lessons at www.lvsonline.com where Sinedots is beeing used in the 'Filter Frenzy 3' class.

DragonFly's Sinedots II Plug-in Filter by Philipp Spoth

Plug-ins are a great way to add performance to your graphic software and experimenting with plug-ins can be great fun too. What better way to get started then to try out some of the free plug-ins available on the web. Philipp Spoth has very generously offered as a free download his plug-in filter which he calls Sinedots II. Sinedots II comes in an After Effects and Photoshop version. This free plug-in is easy to use and you can create many interesting images with it. For example I used the Sinedots II plug-in and Paint ShopTM ProR 8 to create the cover image for an email postcard and computer wallpaper. I also created these iridescent fish and used them to create an animated deep sea screensaver for my laptop.

The DragonFly´s Sinedots II plug-in filter is well known and you can find numerous tutorials written by Sinedots fans. Just search for "Sinedots II tutorials". There is also a user group called SinedotsAddicts. The members share tutorials, images, ideas, and presets for the plug-in. When you have a few minutes free, download Sinedots II and see what you can create with this great filter.
