Reminded me of the old slinky toy from many years ago. I did recolor this and apply some blending in Photoshop.

There's a new plastic one?!

I unfortunately acquired a slinky only as an adult living somewhere where I had no access (at home) to stairs (and it probably wouldn't have gone down too well at work/school!). My parents consider(ed) them hazardous - having carried on and on about the danger of leaving things on the stairs for people to trip on, I suppose they thought that buying us a toy to play with only on the stairs would send rather a mixed message. (We had two glass windows which together went from floor to ceiling at the bottom of our stairs, as they curved round at the bottom, so it was especially dangerous. Doesn't explain the ban on roller-skates, though - or the nearly-ban on bikes, averted only due to a disagreement in policy! And possibly the fact that I was already riding on a friend's anyway and had learnt before they knew about it.)

Ah, yes, the image. I must say, I've never seen a slinky this lovely - either in terms of delicacy or colour. Then again, maybe somebody somewhere makes them...

It makes me think of wire jewellery - the kind you can make (I can't, but you probably can) from thin wires and beads. This is obviously not the product of a Fisher Price starter kit, either. Beautiful, varied wires in subtle colours and tiny glass beads. It looks as though it is probably a brooch - or destined to become one. It would make sense if it is already complete with a pin at the back because the green cloth on which it is laying clearly has an indentation behind the brooch. This way the pin is hidden and the brooch lies flat against the green. (Great green, by the way.)

But, if you want to chuck it down the stairs and kill people, I don't suppose anything I say will stop you.

Nice work.
