I do remember them too and very well. In my childhood days in almost every home there was one and used. In good working condition they were. Their makes varied though. Of course our were mostly German makes. This is a very nice image. Great entry for BWC ! SAM & SAAB
Very interesting looking photo and it great to see scenes like this of the old type of house old machinery and it a first for me as I have never seen that company sowing machine before.The detail is great and work very nicely in black and white.
In the Dutch language (rather similiar to the German language) 'Anker' stands fot anchor as wel. In addition to Raj,s comment I like to say however that it's made in Germany indeed. My late mother had an 'Anker' too. She bought it because of its solid state quality. This image brings us back in time, Gisele. Nostalgic and fine image!
