Gabrielle, I like this very much, the colour is lovely and you seem to have mastered the focus. The only thing I could comment on is the lighting. To me it looks as if it's a bit too bright on the front flower.

Nice colors on the flower, and the sky. Did you edit the sky to make it look like that? Nice foofiness.

The frame and background colors fit perfectly with your flowers. Nice work all the way around.

I like the rich colors and the little stuff on top of the flower. The sky's a beautiful shade as well. This looks like a flash photo shot on automatic. I say this, because it looks like the camera decided to meter off the background or some dark part of the flower, and it chose a wide aperture. The result is that the side petals are in focus, but the front petals are overexposed, and both the front and back petals are out of focus.

If you want to get them all in focus and lighted well, meter off the front petal, and set your aperture to F-12. This will give you the depth of field you want to get all the petals in focus, while metering off the front petal will ensure that the flash underexposes the back petals instead of overexposing the front ones.

Looks like you've gotten a lot of good advice from everyone, so I'll just say that's got to be one of the most unusual flowers I've seen in a long time!!

I like the first one better, but I like the sky in this one. I guess Mar had some interesting advice.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

The colours here are so soft and pretty. I like the sort of glow there is on the whole photo and I enjoy the framing too. All in all, I give you a good high score...nice shot!! Verena

The colours are wonderful. I don't have any suggestions for the overexposed flower but it seems others did. I might have to take some of their advice myself. :) Beautiful image and nicely presented.
