My sister-in-law just got back from a half year trip to Australia. So I asked if I could post them here... and luckily for me she said Yes! So here's the first: The Opera House in Sidney!

This is really interesting as we are used to seeing pictures of the Opera house taken from either the bridge or from the harbour and not from the land. Also nearly every picture is in brilliant sunshine ,so it looks completely different shot in cloudy conditions and this adds a whole new dimension.

If a thing is worth doing, it is worth doing badly. G. K. Chesterton. If you would like to see this sentiment in action please look at My Gallery

Wow! Nice angle, I like that the she put the shot right down the middle, dividing the grass and the pavement evenly and it maybe possible that she is holding her shot steady by leaning back against the lamp post. clever? The lighting is soft on the eyes, but I can still see every detail..very clear. She did a great job. Thanks to the both of you for sharing.

I have never seen a picture of this without water in the foreground. That is some fancy building. She captured a nice sky, also. Tell your sister-in-law thanks.

This is a great shot and I don't think I've ever been this close before. Very distinctive architecture in that building.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Very nice Gabi. You two did a fine collaboration. For some reason I thought of the Singing Nun when I saw this. Love the architecture. Good post.

Hi Gabrielle
Nice one the old opera house looks like it's enjoying some good British weather at last. Reading between the lines I suspect the sunshine crowd don't like it ;o) well tough luck to them. :o)

Edit: snapdragonk has reminded me of Australias terrible drought, and I would like to clarify this comment above has no intentional reference to it. I wouldn't want to upset any Australians on such a sensitive issue !! especially Kelcey. :o)
