Hello, Garrison...I checked out your gallery and discovered that you have a rather tiny gallery. If all of your photographs are as good as this one, you are a prodigy. This shot is very beautiful. You have a foreground of horses and lush green grass, a background of the most gorgeous autumn leaves I’ve seen in a long time and a deep background of more lush vegetation. I actually said, “Wow” when I saw this, and I don’t give out very many wows.
That being said, I’m not going to let you escape quite so easily. The photo looks a little flat. It looks like you might have used a telephoto lens which is fine but can cause a lack of definition and contrast especially in the background where there seems to be a slight mist or haze from letting the colors leap out. Because the sky is less than dramatic, you did well to crop out most of it.
I have run into a few folks on Caedes who do no editing to their pics. If you routinely do post photo work, I would suggest bumping up the contrast and the saturation.
Because of the wow factor which is about a 9.25, I'd give your shot a 7 or 8 in the voting booth. Well done.
.palral took the words right put of my mouth. The image could certainly use some post processing. I think you'll find that the colors will pop and there will be more depth to it. The framing and subject are great and with a bit of work this could be quite special. Keep up the good work -
The reason why the sunsets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
