While out in the Black Hills saw this plant growing right out of the middle of a Juniper bush. Had no clue of what it was, asked my internet friends and they came through. It's called a pinedrops (pterospors andromedea). Well at least 1 of the 50 that responded got it right.

It's certainly different and colorful. I don't recall ever seeing anything like this. Good photo.

I probably wouldn't have paid much attention to it, but it looked so unique growing through that Juniper bush, Has a stock like rhubarb.

Very interesting shot Rich - the hot pink/fuchsia and orange colors really stand out amongst the greenery - great capture!!!:-):-):-)!!!

It makes for a very pretty site, Rich. The contrast between the green of the Juniper bush and the reds and oranges of the pinedrops is beautiful.
