This is a shot of the first computer I built back in 2001. It was such a hassle back then dealing with unscrupulous vendors and not having the parts arrive on time, etc. I also had to drive across town to pick up the tower and other hardware which wasn't fun, but the end result was satisfying. I upgraded again in 2005 and bought a brand new pre-built system in July 2011 which I'm using right now. The size of the tower I must admit was purely a macho thing, I could have used a much smaller case. :)

These boxes remain a puzzle to me and it would be nice to understand them a little better. I admire your tech skills, Alex.

This looks like a professional job indeed! Now-a-days it is not worth the trouble building your own PC because prices have gone down so much.

Alex, everything has its own advantages and disadvantages. Think the advantage of this computer is that it has a lack of cooling problems for both processor and graphic adapter.

Think you've built a solid state one!
