A few years ago I looked up my childhood home online. I hadn't been back there to see it in person, but have seen through Google maps, etc what the outside looked like. I saw it was listed for $5000 or some ridiculous figure like that, and asked the person listing it if there were pictures of the inside. To my surprise they went in and sent the photos per my request. The two bottom photos show what the same area in the house looked liked in the late 60's and early 70's. The baby is me by the way. Although I was born into the house and stayed there until I was 25 years old it doesn't really bother me to see the current state (This was about 4 years ago, it's probably gone now) It's almost fascinating to see how nature has taken over. Also, from most of the pictures he took, it was very difficult to place where in the house they were taken, being they changed so much!

Interesting. The house I grew up in is not in very good shape either.

That is what happens often when the owner changes. Nostalgia got a beating here.

That's quite a difference Alex, but such things happen.
One can destroy a house, but not your childhood memories.

Alex - As Cornelius notes, the memories can far outlive the location.

If I could tell the story in words, I wouldn't need to lug around a camera. ~Lewis Hine The Earth without art is just 'eh'.
