It is very serendipitous that I posted a flamingo photo yesterday. There was a tragic incident involving one of the star flamingos at the park yesterday. I don't want to go into detail, but if you want to Google Busch Gardens and flamingo you can read the story, but I'm sure it will anger you and break your heart. Sorry for being dramatic, but this should never have happened. The incident in question took place at the location this photo was taken in 2014.

Love flamingos and all animals Alex - I'm having difficulty trying to rationalize this tragedy - so sad.

Alex, I've found the article in the Washington Post. I've read that Mr. J.A.C. has been charged in the incident with felony animal cruelty.
I can't imagine why humans beings, having brains, can do such a cruelty, but the history learns us that it's not an incident.

It almost looks as though they are grieving for Pinky. What a shame to do that at a bird which has done nothing to him. Barbaric behavior!

I too read the story and I cannot fathom how someone could do that and in front of his children too. Disgusting! It does look like they are grieving for Pinky.

I heard something of this disturbing news and have nothing but contempt for anyone who would purposely inflict harm and cruelty on any animal...this gathering does seem to be portraying their grief over the incident...nice shot, Alex.

That is disgraceful act for a stupid visitor or anyone in fact. Hope they nail him to the cross. A wonderful shot of these beautiful birds
