Here's the back of the postcard I featured yesterday. I can read the majority of it. I surmise that my grandfather jokingly wonders if anyone is alive back home. He goes on to talk about a baseball game. I realise most of you can read this but for me some of it is hard to decipher.

For your amusement (only three words I couldn't decipher):

Clintonville, Wisc.
Sept. 13, 1914

Dear Mother:
Is everybody dead in Kenosha[?] I haven't heard from anyone for quite awhile. This is the last time I write until I get an answer. This is a pretty hard looking bunch [] [] Can you see me on this picture[?] I pretty near got left out. We are going to play the Clintonville baseball team this afternoon. How is business in Kenosha[?] Beastly dull I suppose. We will be here about another month.

I feel silly stating that I could only make out a few words. I should have said that I was having difficulty reading parts of the letter. In any event, thank you for doing the heavy lifting. My mum's birthday is on the 13th of September, 23 years after the date on the postcard.

Interesting to see the writing on the back of the postcard and the old stamp...I also have the odd old postcard once belonging to my great grandparents...good post...pardon the pun, lol.

Thank you to Jeff for deciphering this postcard, it's seems that poor old Bruce is feeling ignored, I'm familiar with that.

Good luck in the contest Alex.

Good that Pistos has written the text. It would have been impossible for me to read all. A nice memento well worth keeping.

Alex, thanks for this very interesting post. Thanks to Jeff for deciphering the text. Could have been an ordinary postcard in that time, but nowadays it should be considered in perspective of that era. To me this image is, in combination with your previous one, a time-document!
