I was walking around Lettuce Lake yesterday and decided to go off the trail and explore the backwoods a bit. I had been back there many years ago but decided to take another look. I ran across some old beer cans, and saw they were the old pull tab type and that told me me they were probably from when college kids used to drive into the area before Lettuce Lake became a park in 1982. The park has a very interesting past from the paleo-indians that made it home to moonshine still, frat party's, marriages performed there, probably a baby or two born, etc. By the way, I ascertained that the can(s) weren't thrown from the road, and had to have been there 25+ years.
A proof to me that it's very important to educate our posterity this way that they'll realize that the earth isn't their own possession, Alex.
We are only temporary here, and have the duty to take a good care of it. Throwing empty beer cans in the open nature, remaining there for at least 25 years, isn't the solution.
Thanks for this good one, my friend.
