While we were taking the ferry ride to the Wilderness lodge on May 15 we passed Discovery Island and other areas around Bay Lake. I spotted something along the shore and wasn't sure what it was. When I got back home I viewed it along with the rest of the photos, and I was surprised at what I saw. This is some sort of root structure of a tree but it looks grotesque and I assure you it is not an animal of any sort. My MM entry.

I don't know Alex. It looks like a dead bird. It must of swallowed a bad oyster.

Life's moments are sweet. I just want to capture all that I can of them.

---I assure you it is not an animal of any sort---

I'll take your words for granted, Alex.
I agree with Frank however that it has the appearance of a dead bird. Quite misleading, ☺ .

Good one for Manic Monday, my friend.

Very interesting shot of the root structure Alex - looks like an animal could live in the hollow - perhaps they disposed of their garbage - hence the clam shell lol - Neat Capture!!!!!!!

It looks like the roots of a big tree long gone. Nature and creatures have done their share to make it look like his. Good find and capture.

That is one enchanting chunk of driftwood! It really does look like a Mother Nature whittling work of art.

I agree with jerseygurl. It looks like prime real estate for a small den critter.

Great capture! The light really brings out the woodgrains and the shadows assist in bringing the driftwood's character to life.
