I need to research, but I believe these are buds of the beauty bush that has the vibrant purple berries. Taken at Lettuce Lake, January 2017. Update: I looked online and realize now this isn't beauty bush, not sure what species they are, but after a real hectic week, I say just enjoy them whatever they may be. :)

I believe the flowers are Viburnum. They do have colourful berries - blue or red depending on the type of viburnum. The blooms have a lovely scent.
