Greetings. I had a moment today and thought I would take a drop of water from a container my girlfriend was using to soak avocado pits to plant later on. I was pleasantly surprised to find a rotifer! I had taken samples of swamp water, etc. and discovered some minor ciliates (protozoans with hair like appendages that force food into their mouths) over the past few weeks. here is an example of the rotifer I captuerd today The image is a bit blurry, but a good capture relies on conditions of the specimen and the camera in use. I am using a 3.1 MP plug-in camera for this shot.
