I'm really into goth rock and new wave. My favorite band is The Birthday Massacre. The guy in my avatar is, in fact, a guy. His name is Mana from the band Malice Mizer.
Dark and different. Definately a serpent-like texture and "feel" about it.

Maybe it's the cultural conditioning growing up in New Zealand. It reminds me strongly of Maori koru designs.

I love the color shifts and texture of this. I see both the serpent quality and the fern filiments. Awesome desktop!

I just came across this and rather like it. Although I hate to be so mundane, I have to say that the first thing it reminded me of was chunky knitting - perhaps a pile of sweaters knitted according to the same pattern but in different colours.
The only thing that I personally am not quite so enthusiastic about are the black holes in the design. The one in the centre just a bit more than half way down bothers me most as my eye is drawn to it rather than to the surrounding design. My eyes are far from being the best though and I have particular issues with depth perception, so I could very easily be misperceiving this. As you did ask for suggestions, though, I thought it just might be worth mentioning (assuming you are still around and interested - if not, no harm done, I suppose).
Very nice colours, too. Again, they remind me of yarn - the better quality sorts that are dyed subtly so that the resulting garment has a heathered look.
