The gate was built in honour of the victory of Louis XIV to conquer Lille. Vollant architect built it in 1685-1692 (the square has the architect's name). The gate is in front of belfry, the sign of commercial success of the city. I was at the top of the belfry to get this shot... Hope you enjoy !! PS : Thanks to +purmusic who suggested me to edit this shot with a HDR software.

Colours are richer, deeper with this version.

Nice job but I feel it's still a tad to soft and could use a slight dose of contrast and sharpening if you don't mind me saying so:):) I downloaded it and "fiddled" with it a bit and I would like to send the results to you if you don't mind:):0
