Poor trees have been caught in the mineral deposits of Mammouth Springs in Yellowstone National Park. This is the first in my series of Yellowstone shots, however if you would like to see others please take a look at Bean811's gallery as he was there the week before me and had considerably better weather!

Well done.

It's not how many megapixels. But how you use the ones you have.

The contrast in this post is spectacular, a very nice post of a very desolate locale.

Great grab. My favorite time to visit this is very early in the morning.

There is no substitute for genuine lack of preparation.

Thanks for the free advertising!! Looks like angel terrace? Less than perfect weather or not, I really like how you captured this...especially the higher contrast. It really makes the trees stand out against the hot springs. All of your shots from your trip to the US have been great, but I'm really looking forward to your Yellowstone ones!!

One item on my "bucket list" is to visit every National Park in the United States. So far, 2 are in the book. Please check out my website for all my shots from Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks.

i was going to perm this into the galleries but didn't in the end - its painfully close to perfect but the heavy contrast has trashed a lot of the important detail and blown out the highlights - do you have a raw or unedited file to try and fix those things? its a marvellous study all the same
