Fourth upload in the Forest of Dean series. Again apologies for the very bright white sky. Inside the abbey was quite dark and the day was quite gloomy but the contrast between the architecture and the white sky seems to have come out very strong. As always, comments and constructive advice is welcome :)

---Again apologies for the very bright white sky---

Rachel, maybe I'm wrong, but I do suppose that apologies only have to be made when one has done something wrong. Can't 'discover' however what is wrong with this image. The 'washed out' sky gives this image even a more tranquil and impressive atmosphere.
Think that a perfect sky with some wonderful clouds for this image may be disturbing and 'overdone'.

Regards, Cornelius.

Rachel, Great job again of handling a difficult lighting situation. I only see one small are with a touch of overexposure. If I had tried this shot, you'd have to wear those face masks that welders use and sunscreen to view the shot without endangering your eyes and skin. For a moment I thought that the roof top in the lower right was a part of a broken pane of glass. Duh!! Like they used regular manufactured glass back then.

I like the colors in this shot better than the black and white in the last shot. I couldn't really tell you why other than a personal preference at the core of my being. Love the isometric view on this beauty. A solid 8.5 from me.

This makes a great wide screen desktop. My eyes travel from the bottom of the composition right out and through the hole in the roof, as if I'm chasing after the Almighty as He tries to get away! Very nice work!

I like the depth in this photo, Rachel. A good perspective in the shot. I like the lighting inside the ruins.
