The River Wye snakes along the border between England and Wales and is one of the most beautiful waterways our country has to offer. The best way to see it is by canoe or kayak but there are many paths too! It also appears to be swan central as there were 100's along the river although none in this shot.

Rachel, "You were at the right time at the right spot" has become a rather common saying. It was not valid for you, lol. Have hoever my doubts whether this is a pity or not. No swans doesn't mean that your post would be less attractive. It's on the contrary, because you have provived us with an excellent image in wich all the attention is caught now by the wonderful river Wye and not by other, in this case, less important elements. Well done!

Regards, Cornelius.

Edit: have seen meanwhile that the swans have appeared in your 'Forest of Dean - Goodrich Castle' image!

I love the Wye, its ceaselessly changing face thorough the year off a lot of scope for pictures. I am fortunate to live close to it and see its beauty constantly.

Rachel, this is a most pleasing view with a good perspective. The swans around here seem to enjoy the many lakes we have over the rivers. ♥♥tigs=^..^=

A lovely perspective in your photo, Rachel. A good view of the river and nice framing with the tree branches.

Wow, Rachel...I'm seeing your shots in the featured images and every posting is more beautiful than the last posting. You could open up a postcard factory with your shots of the countryside and the buildings that are older than the earth. Maybe it's good they did away with the VB and the C-Index because you probably wouldn't want to associate with us bottom dwellers. You have blossomed into one of my favorite photographers on Caedes.

As for your shot here, it sucks. Just kidding. Just trying to balance out your bloated ego. Of all things that I enjoy about this shot, the mostest enjoyablest is the depth. The tiny bush in the front left helps, followed by the trees at the top as the stream disappears around the corner. A stunner in my book.
