This is a view of the coast of the Severn Estuary looking from the habour village of Watchet towards Minehead which is the coastal town that the sun is favouring in this image. This image is for Roger (Palral) who commented after a series of aeroplane uploads that he missed my landscapes. He was also recently involved in a car accident which was not his fault! Hope this makes you feel a little better. Its the least i could do Roger. A little cropping needed do you think? Thoughts welcome.

To me this image needs no cropping Rachel, as it would disturb the balance in the compostion and destroy the threatening atmosphere. Keep it as it is, because it's a splendid photograph. Well done. My compliments.

Regards, Cornelius.

Hello Rachel....This indeed a lovely shoreline picture...The light on the horizon, the clouds and the darkness of the foreground makes an overall lovely composition and magic mood....Well done....All the very best to you Rachel.........Mick.

Hi, Rachel...

The shot is undoubtedly a beauty and far better than a bunch of jets flying around. I'll tell you one thing...you have some gorgeous areas to work with whether you realize yet or not.

The background actually steals the show on this shot. It's perfect. Love the sunbeams and the dramatic and threatening sky. The foreground focus seems a little soft or dark. Then again everyone is telling me that my foregrounds are too sharp and light.

This whole thing is about opinions anyway. I got reamed last week for centering a tree. Half the people said it was perfect as is and half said it needed cropping. A brawl would have ensued if the people writing the critiques had been in the same room.

Cornelius knows his stuff. He says potayto and I say potahto. Who's right? Both and neither.

Hope that your teaching is going well. It's certainly impacted your postings which I miss.

Roger

Perfect the way it is Rachel, leave the scissors in the drawer or on the peg or wherever you keep them. Just don't run with them whatever you do. A beautiful looking scene with a great dramatic atmosphere. A nice capture and presentation.
