Recently journeyed north to Sheffield and The Peak District for a family wedding and was fortunate enough to spend a day rambling on the moors of Dark Peak and Stanadge Edge. I had some difficulties with the light because it was so overcast and grey and the first of these shots are very gloomy but i hope you feel it adds to the atmopshere. Constructive advice always warmly recieved!

Hi, Rachel...

You live in an area with varied geographical structures. This scene looks like the remnants of some work by glaciers. Very good clarity and colors n the rocks. The layers of clouds are fascinating to me. I'm used to coastal fog which can have layers as well. Looks quite cold and damn ugly but in a Mother Nature is beautiful sort of a way.

I was think that there might be too much sky, but the cloud layers create enough interest to make it worthwhile. I probably would have titled this shot "Forlorn". I read the books of James Herriot. I pictured scenery like this in my little mind.

A good, solid bit of landscape photography. And even better...no complaints from me.

The gloomy sky makes it for me, personally. Perhaps I am depressed but I like cloudy days.

Nice depth in the scene, Rachel. A rugged looking landscape. A little darkening of the highlights and contrast would add to the atmosphere of the grayish overcast sky. A superb bit of rambling through the countryside.
