This is a test. My two postings today are identical, other than the fact one was uploaded as a JPEG and the other as a PNG…but, which is which? So, no need to comment on both, but, if you’d be so kind as to view both and comment as to if you can see any difference between the two. Plez view both at 1600 x 1200, even if you generally view at a different size. If you see no difference, that’s OK too. We…myself and another (Special unnamed party) are keeping score.

I might just be seeing things but this does appear better...hard to tell really flip flopping between the two.

Well, on my monitor, the jpeg image has just a titch more vibrant colour, but really not enough to make any difference under normal viewing conditions.

Can't say that I can see any difference. They are beautiful flowers in both cases.

CITIZENS of our world, check my website for a riveting, informational video that concerns all of you and the future of our globe. You will be flabbergasted, annoyed, distressed, in disbelief, but you will have been made aware of the WARNINGS. See this film. It gets better as it goes along, but will have your attention from the first quote.

I agree with Darryl, this one seems a bit better. The pink is more vibrant, on your other image the pink seems to be slightly paler. Though anyway you look at them, they're gorgeous shots. Nicely done Randy. ;o)

I give this one a slight edge, I suspect due to just a little better contrast. It's not a significant difference. Interesting test. Nice photo, too.

The differences are definitely visible if you download both and flip between them, but don't produce a significant change in quality in this case. Doubtless the original PNG looks better than both of them! I would guess that Deja Vu is the one that was submitted as PNG.

I'm very sensitive to jpeg artifacts myself. I hope one day the world has enough bandwidth to do everything lossless :-)

Not a lot of difference in these two Randy.....I don't suppose it makes a lot of difference!...the colours and quality are very identical....both are superb>>>>

It´s hard to see any difference but I think this is JPEG. I have to take it in to PS and look them closely. But when I download both pictures came as JPG.

I'm gong to make a link here for myself so I can compare more easily Vuja De Well, I can't see much of a difference at all, but it may just be my monitor...I didn't realize you could upload another file than a jpeg or a gif *stuffs ignorance behind my back* ... so I take it that the png file takes up more space??.....learn something new everyday :)PJ

Thanks a ton everyone for grabin' hold and straining your eyes to maybe find a difference here. Well, Déjà Vu was the JPEG, which was 1600x1200 @ 1.49MB and Vujà Dé was the PNG upload of 1600x1200 @ 5.25MB. I looked and looked and couldn't tell a huge difference myself. If you DL both at 1600x1200 they'll both be a JPEG due to conversion but you'll notice that Vujà Dé, the PNG, will be just a wee larger size. The JPEG initially came out with a higher score than the PNG.
