Barred Owl (Strix varia) The barred owl is also known as Crazy Owl and Laughing Owl for their loud, enthusiastic hooting. It shares one unique feature with the barn owl: the dark eyes. This is an owl native to the United States. His hoot sounds like "who cook’s for you . . .who cooks for you all"

After a bit of an absence, partly vacation but mostly tax season...busy for bookkeeping businesses... I'm glad to be back out here with at least 'some' regularity. I've missed everyone and am glad to have a little more time again.

He does look like he's begging for something, and if I know birds, it's food.. Wow...that's really up close and personal and clear as a bell. Wouldn't have to be too "wise" to enjoy an upload like this.

This is my favorite owl. I Love the round face and big eyes. Another great bird shot, Randy.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Super-duper close up of this fine fella. He is a beautiful hooter and the details are admirable. This is a very clear shot - his eyes are huge! His coloring is beautiful and the background is plain & simple and
looks great. A fine job Randy :>
