The Eastern or American Goldfinch (Carduelis tristis), also known as the Wild Canary, is a North American bird in the finch family. The only finch in its subfamily which undergoes a complete molt, the American Goldfinch displays sexual dimorphism in its coloration; the male is a vibrant yellow in the summer and an olive color during the winter months, while the female is a dull yellow-brown shade which brightens only slightly during the summer. The male displays brightly colored plumage during the breeding season to attract a mate.

A lovely little Carduelis tristis :) I like its litle pink legs.
A lovely clear shot and the yellow so vibrant, telling us it must be summer.
You get a wonderful selection of birds where you live.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

He's very pretty. I wish we'd get some of these around the house instead of blue jays and crows. :/

Yup...we used to have them around in the summer, but now I don't see them when they are dull...in the winter and the early spring. Thanks for the upload. It's nice to see them in their summer clothes :)
