Yes, a simple snapshot and not a very good one I'm afraid. I thought it was an interesting moth though. It was BIG and very hairy!! I'd say he was about 3" from tip to tip. Sorry about the focus, who knows?? I thought it was cute how Charlie has his little tongue kinda stickin' out. He's thinking tasty, perhaps??

This is very nice and yes the focus is a little off , but it still works for me. I posted one of these about a week ago. Best wishes. Dwight.

Randy, I think that "he" is actually a "she" -- it's an Imperial Moth, and the females are mostly yellow, while the males have more purple patches. (You can read the Wikipedia article here, and see my photo of the male here.) PS: The cat makes this a winner!

I wouldn't if I was you - it will get stuck in your throat! ...but I bet the cat went for it - it would probably be a fun came for that little rascal! amusing photo R!

Sometimes the story a shot tells is more important than the quality. This is just that. Nice job.

Every picture tells a story and this one certainly does. Charlie looks positively rapt. Dont let him eat too many moths - will make hime thin :)

Mmm - now where can I get a good supply of moths . . .

That's a pretty good sized moth. The cat looks bemused and bewildered. Better lock your closets up with these fellows hanging about. The shot is really cute. I'm glad you posted it.

Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb. - Churchill
