Family Accipitridae, Haliaeetus leucocephalus Sex: Female Hatched: 3/17/95 Weight: 10.5-12 lbs Why is the bird here? The nest she hatched in was blown down by a storm.Due to potential respiratory problems, she was deemed not releasable, but instead has educated the public all over the country. I had no idea they were that heavy. Birds are usually so light. I'm glad she's' well taken care of, cause she's a beauty and you caught her looking her best!
