More in the No. XX series. By now youÂ’ve probably guessed I have several flora pics and itÂ’s hard to keep coming up with names so IÂ’ll just use numeric titles if yaÂ’ll are OK with that.

I wanted to mention lotsa people are sayin “nice macro”…I’d say 90% of my No. XX uploads are actually not macros. I’m not sure the term for the way I shot these, but, I’d find my flower with a nice backdrop then back away and use my zoom (12x) to close in and focus only on the flora which creates the blurred background. Most all in the series are done that way using between 10x & 12x zoom. There will be a few macros, but not to many.

I decided to post these as isÂ…no framing or fonts or manips. Simple check of curves & levels and resized to 1600x1200 for upload. Thanks to all for the great support!!

Any and all comments and critiques welcome!!

You have got that flower spot on with your zoom. Contrary to the usual, it looks even sharper on full screen. Great shot!

As per your request, here's my two pence...

First, the good. Nice coloring, good white balance, and the image's lighting feels "alive" and "fresh". I like the choice of focus depth here. Definitely pleasing to the eye.

Ok, now for the um, maintanence dept...

Composition feel a bit lopsided. All (or most) of your shadow is to the far left, and top of the image, while the oout-of focus flower to the right provides all (or most) of the background's light. Maybe a re-centering of the shot to allow more evenly distributed light/shadow.
See that litlle wedge of flower peeking into the frame? Upper right? I do too. I shouldn't (hint).

Lastly, while the overall light levels look good, the highlights seem a tad blown out, but I'm not sure if that's just something caused by my monitor.

Oh yeah, and I almost forgot... nice macro!

(I teeezin' baby!:p)

Please, even if you don't visit my gallery, check out my "Faves".I've left them intact since day "1", and would like it if every image there got the attention they deserved.
