Not a great photo at all, sorry. Just wanted to share!! This is my adoptive bird, Edgar. Edgar is a male Peregrine Falcon hatched in 1999. Bred at WBS for release, but after he broke his clavicle and scapula, was put into educational programs.

My participation in the Adopt-A-Bird Program helps them care for one of the many birds at WBS and the Office of Wildlife Learning (O.W.L.). It costs over $1,000 to feed a bald eagle each year and my adoption goes directly to the care of birds.

I choose to adopt a Peregrine Falcon as they're my favorite of the raptors.

Thanks for sharing Edgar and his story. It helps remind us that it's not just about the pictures we take, but how they reflect our feelings for the important things around us.

I love the gleamingness of Edgars eye - fine looking bird he is and a nice portrait of him
$1000 pa to feed a bird - surprising!
Kudos to you for adopting him :)

Great shot and a great cause. Years ago I helped out in a similar program, going out to pick up wounded hawks from car strikes. It was a wonderful experience. I too love the light and reflections in his eye. Well done.

Great shot and it is nice that Edgar is on your most wanted list. Nice thing you are doing. Will he ever be released after he recovers? It is nice you have the Falcon's Best Interest (FBI) in mind.

Very nice post and gesture Randy.

I love his pondering look! I think it's a great thing you are doing. My twin granddaughters are part of the raptor program. Last year they would go to the place and read to the Owls. So sweet. Thanx for posting a lovely photo and the info..verena
