A collaborative piece for the current contest. The simplest, yet most intricate of curves…the human form.

Tons of thanks to Rob for workin’ with me on this piece.

Taken at the MO Botanical Gardens, April 14th, 2008. Photo credit: Hottrockin. Post work credit: Third_Eye.

I’m sure Rob will swing by and make note of his superb post work. THANKS again Rob!!

Any and all comments and critiques welcome!!

Randy, it was a great photo to begin with. You did a great job of placing just a hint of garden between the two "subjects", thus setting up the mood, or at least, the scene.

I began by isolating the figure on the right (in MS Digital Image) and adding color in the Color Balance mode. Then, I saved it, and brought it over to CS2, where I did some work on levels, adjusted it a bit more in Selective color, then added a wee bit of glow to it. Contrast was also ramped up a bit to bring out the hands a bit more. Lastly, I used the Soft Focus tool in Picassa (very lightly) to melt away a little bit of detail in the surrounding figures.

Thanks to Randy for giving me such a fun canvas.

Hope everyone enjoys this.

Please, even if you don't visit my gallery, check out my "Faves".I've left them intact since day "1", and would like it if every image there got the attention they deserved.

Gosh, Randy, not only did the title grab me, but the creation is very nice to look at. I wish I were able to do things like this.
One thing I wish more, is that it were a real person...not a statue, altho the colour and what it's made of is very nice. Altho I have to admit, I'm not real sure it's a statue..maybe you two just made it appear that way. Either way, its awesome.V

Oh, yes! I was waiting for something like this. A perfect contest entry. I love how attention is drawn to the well-defined curves of both hands and then with the soft subtle curves in the background making this a sensuous piece ... so full of emotion.

Randy, the composition is outstanding. Rob ... some very sweet post-work ... that tiny bit of glow adds to the image.

A magnificent & artistic collaboration ... Kudo's to you both & best of luck.

Love it!!! Faves! :-))

Great photo and it reminds me of the Olympics. The original Olympics. There is one gold and one silver metal form. I think you will win first and second with this one Randy and Rob. Excellent collab.

In my opinon, this is a ridiculous rating. This piece has such a high artistic value and should be more widely appreciated. It encompasses in an undeniably beautiful way the concept of the contest and the concept of the beauty and simplicity of the human form. I'd hang this on my wall in a second. Thanks for sharing and I sincerely hope this does very well in the contest.
