There it has been, sitting on the birong, observing every day and night in silence, watching our bedroom from the other side of the bed. Made a good target for a few training shots with our new camera. Toyed with the white balance and cranked up the contrast, and ended up with this.

I like it! It has a very cool and soft look - yet sharp and clear. If you try again, you could give it something pale to sit on so that it merges in with the rest of the picture.

I like the color tones, and the textures you picked up so well. I for one, like the dark blanket it's sitting on. Gives a little more to the image. ♥:)sandi♥ =^..^=

Thanks Tootles, I shall try that. I was thinking of it, but being a fan of sharp contrast, decided to go with the one he was sitting on currently. =)

Thanks Sandi!

I don't think the teddy will bother you, but the blue color assignment on the overall theme is good...Thanks for sharing...

Oh man, I wish ppl who wanted to rate a pic under 4 were forced to give critique in text to be able to do so.
Now it just makes me feel bad, with nothing to build on.
People say by voting that this is bad, without having to explain themselves.

Nope, the voting system does not work as it is.

Been reading your thread about the voting boot system and you want some feedback on this picture, well here we go.....

What I like about this shot is how the light is coming in on the right, it fills the negative space just enough and it's given this shot some softness.

The clarity is good and the texture on the wall is nice.

But....

I don't like the dark spot where the bear is sitting on, to harsh comparing with the soft light on the right.

That the bear is not sitting in the center of the picture is a good thing, but it's sitting a tiny bit..mind you, just a tiny bit... to the left to get a perfect balance in your picture.

It would have been better if the bear wasn't blue to get some more contrast in the picture, it's now a bit insipid and colorless, if that was meant to be than you succeed in that.

Have you ever thought of shooting in B/W? Methinks this picture would be perfect for it.
And if you want some color in a B/W shot, than in this case you can easily leave the bow tie colored.

Just some thoughts......

The concept for this picture is good, overall a lovely shot :o)

Thanks, Twinkel! =) Thats good advise and exactly how this should be.
Actually I did not even want feedback, really.. I mean, of course I wish for it, but the thread is not for getting myself feedback. Rather I would see the thread arousing some discussion about the voting system, and preferably some changes to it in the future.

What I wanted was that if somebody thinks this photo deserves a vote of 3 or below, they would be kind enough to shed some light with critique left for me.

I also came here following on from the thread you started. I see twinkle has pretty much said it all. I also like the touch of the shadows on the wall on the right, but overall it is just blue and a little, i would say boring, but twinkles insipid is probably the better way of putting it.

I would also agree that, it it is your bear, you go back and try to shoot some other pictures. perhaps the bear on a chair. keep or enhance the shadows from the blind but try different lighting setups. Some natural, some with flash. Experiment and see what works.

by the way, answering a person here is not good as usually someone who leaves a comment does not come back to look for replies. it is better to send them a message using the link under their avatar.

Finally. Do not get discouraged. keep trying and above all ignore the CI. it really does not mean much.
