Close-up of a red-legged locust, perched on the blossom of an aster.
The mostly dull, camouflage-oriented color of this animal is sharply accentuated by the striking red legs it is named for. I found that it contrasted quite nicely with the dark purple of the aster petals. :)

That is an excellent macro. It is so hard to get a picture of these guys without them hopping away first. Great clarity, great colors and contrast. Very nicely done!
