Joseph - Every year I go to the Gem & Mineral show here in Indiana. I have a whole file of pictures taken at the show. They are so hard to take pictures of because the sameness of color makes it hard to get good contrast and focus. You seem to have overcome this obstacle in your photo. The only thing I could suggest is that you Photoshop the picture and eliminate the background so that it is all one angle or gradient. This would make your subject (The Amethyst) stand out and draw the attention of the eye. Good job. Do more please.

I agree, the amethyst itself is stunning and eye catching. A closer view would bring the focus in to the subject more. I love rocks!

I agree what was said before me, but I wonder if you can recrop on both sides and on the bottom, maybe it will help. The Amethyst is beautiful I love the color and how clear it came out.
