At last i took a picture of a butterfly that isnt blurred! They always flutterby when i go near them with my camera! I stunned this one into submission with my telepathic thoughts to make it stay still! haha Its called a Copper so i am told!

That is great Jan...I am very happy for you...they are not easy to capture...have to have patience...Do you use that telepathic power very often?? ....gerry..

Nice tight focus that really makes the butterfly stand out.No doubt about the subject of this image and that is one of the marks of a truly good photograph. Kudos.

Very beautiful butterfly! I love the clarity and I envy you - they always flutter by me, too. Someday!

How lovely it is when unexpected blessings come into my life to cheer me up and put a smile into my heart. Help me to pass them on, dear Lord. Fay Angus

Hi Jan, a lovely composition - full of summer warmth and scents. It's actually a Comma butterfly and I think the plant is Verbena bonariensis [I have some in my garden] which is a great insect attractant - particularly Hummingbird Hawkmoths.
Cheers,
Steve.
