Back with a stunning picture. The use of the city background was inspired with the reflections the table and such subtle lighting on the flowers themselves. Really nice shot.
What an unusual shot and so well done. The lighting on the orchids is very nicely done and the city background is intriguing and sets them off really well.

Welcome home, Jan! What a gorgeous image - great lighting, eye-catching composition and capturing the flowers' reflection on glass is a master stroke. Excellent!
Fav'd instantly! This is beautiful and a lovely idea. I love how the orchids stand out against the Bangkok at night background, and the way the light falls on them from indoors. Lovely! Thanks for sharing!

I'm so glad you had a good time because I think Thailand has to be one of the best places on earth. Welcome back! Nice shot here, orchids are lovely at the best of times - and of course everywhere in Thailand - but combining them with the backdrop of the city at night like this makes them something really special. This could almost be an advert, it's very professional-looking.

A stunning composition! I love the reflections and the fact that you you have the strong colours on the night background really make this work well. You have a very creative eye for detail! Well done.
I've been away from Caedes for awhile. This photo was on the front page as a featured image. Nicely done. The orchid is tack sharp. Placing it on the reflective tabletop is very effective. A couple things I might have done differently: photographed with a little less DOF for more blur in the background. The lights and building outlines are necessary for the effect, I just wonder how it would look with a little less definition, drawing the eye more to the focal point. As is, it strikes me a bit too busy. I would also have shot or cropped so the flowers are more to the right since they're "facing" left. Beautiful image. anne :-)
Don't tell me it's good, tell me what is good about it. Don't tell me it stinks, tell me what I can do do improve it. Thank you for taking the time to tell me anything at all. Be blessed. anne :-)
With all due respect I must disagree with some of "colocolor's" comment above. The sharpness of the orchids against the DOF is exactly what draws the eye to the focal point. If the background were blurred much more it would be just that - a blur. I like being able to discerne that there are, in fact, buildings in the background. I makes kind of a man vs nature statement. I might have flipped the image though just to have the darker area behind desktop icons and not having them covering the beautiful flowers. Nice job, Jan -

You know, I never really made use of the favorites feature on this site, but I think I will give you the honor of being the first one in. I really like the lighting and colors in this image.
